To date, seventeen investment projects with a total value exceeding US$12 billion, involving Korean companies, have been registered in Turkmenistan. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced this while speaking on September 15 at the Turkmenistan – Korea Business Forum, held during the Turkmen leader’s state visit to Seoul, TDH reports.
“This serves as vivid evidence that Korean businesspeople view Turkmenistan as a reliable partner and highlights the immense potential of our bilateral relations,” the President said.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Korean companies have gained extensive experience working in Turkmenistan throughout the years of the country’s independence.
“In this regard, it is worth noting the construction, with the participation of LX International Corp and Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd., of a natural gas desulfurization plant at the Galkynyş gas field and a polymer plant in Kiyanly. Furthermore, SK Networks has been involved in installing road traffic safety systems and providing consulting services in Ashgabat,” the President noted.
“Currently, a number of investment projects are being implemented in Turkmenistan with the participation of Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co., Ltd., Korea Meditech Co., Ltd. and other Korean companies. Negotiations are underway regarding promising projects set to launch in the near future,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov continued.
“We regard the Republic of Korea not only as a key technological and investment partner but also as a nation possessing advanced expertise in industrial modernization, digitalization and the development of high-tech manufacturing. For its part, Turkmenistan boasts abundant natural resources, a robust energy sector, a favorable geographic position and extensive opportunities for the implementation of major investment projects,” the President stated.
“We are ready to create all the necessary conditions and to provide comprehensive support to the Korean business community in implementing promising joint projects in our country,” the Head of Turkmenistan stressed.
