On October 3, a meeting was held at the Central Building of Turkmenistan’s oil and gas complex to review the results of work accomplished over the past nine months of the year, being held in the country under the motto: “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses.” During the meeting, its participants discussed in detail the key tasks assigned to the domestic oil and gas sector by esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the digital sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on October 2, which focused on the results of the development of national economic sectors for the reporting period.
Opening the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Guvanch Agajanov emphasized that the esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov places great trust in the workers of the oil and gas industry. The state creates all necessary conditions for scientific advancement based on modern achievements, regularly modernizes production capacities and consistently strengthens the sector’s material and technical infrastructure. These factors, in turn, define the strategic objectives facing the sector. As noted, it is essential to implement comprehensive measures to increase hydrocarbon production volumes, to effectively utilize the production potential of the fuel and energy complex and to continue geological exploration to locate and identify new resources of the country’s depths.
Detailed reports on activities conducted during the first nine months of the year were presented by Guvanch Agajanov, Chairman of the Türkmennebit State Concern; Maksat Babayev, State Minister and Chairman of the Türkmengaz State Concern; Berdymurad Amanov, Chairman of the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation; and heads of relevant associations, directorates, institutions and enterprises of the complex.
The participants paid close attention to the execution of ongoing directives and strategic plans. These include accelerating the industrial development of the Galkynyş gas field; constructing the Serhetabat – Herat gas pipeline, a key stage of the transnational Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India (TAPI) corridor, in strict compliance with modern standards; organizing technical production; exploring for and discovering new fields; fostering mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign companies; and conducting geological exploration using advanced equipment.
In addition, the participants emphasized the historical significance of the recent speeches of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag and the esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the regular meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan. In the addresses of the National Leader and the Head of State, the fuel and energy complex, which is the main driving force of the entire national economy, was given a key place among the priorities of state policy. In this regard, the speakers at the meeting expressed their sincere gratitude to the esteemed President and the Hero-Arkadag for their full support in developing the country’s oil and gas sector, expanding its export potential and for the continuous improvement of working and living conditions for workers in this sector.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Guvanch Agajanov outlined a series of organizational tasks for the Türkmengaz and Türkmennebit State Concerns and the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation. He highlighted the need to oversee the implementation of major investment projects, to actively adopt modern technologies and digital system capabilities, to ensure the proper execution of production and development plans, to thoroughly study scientific and innovative achievements and to regularly enhancethe skills and professional expertise of young specialists.
In concluding his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister extended his best wishes for every professional success in effectively addressing the large-scale tasks for the development of the oil and gas industry, set by the esteemed President Arkadagly Hero Serdar.
