Gazprom will study Iran’s idea of creating a gas hub with the participation of Turkmenistan, Russia and Qatar

Gazprom will study and evaluate Iran’s proposal to create a gas center with the participation of Turkmenistan, Russia and Qatar.

“We need to evaluate and study Iran’s proposal to create a gas center with the participation of Turkmenistan, Russia and Qatar,” Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with RT Arabik, answering a question about Iran’s proposal to create such a hub.

“I think that our company Gazprom will study this issue.  If this is really a real and potentially good project, then, of course, Russia will also participate in it.  But we need to evaluate and study it,” Novak said.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister also stated that Turkish partners are currently considering the road map prepared by Gazprom for the project to create a gas hub in Turkey.

Last week, the head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, held meetings with the Minister of Oil of Iran, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of NIOC, Javad Oudji, and with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Alparslan Bayraktar.  The meetings took place on the sidelines of the international forum “Russian Energy Week – 2023”, which took place from October 11 to 13 in Moscow.
