On the final day of his working visit to Beijing, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People, TDH reported on Thursday.
Before the meeting, the head of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China took pictures against the backdrop of the national flags of the two countries.
During the negotiations, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Xi Jinping discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including trade, economic, investment, energy, transport, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the news agency notes.
The parties noted the progressive development of Turkmen-Chinese relations based on the principles of good neighborliness, friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Following the meeting, bilateral documents were signed aimed at strengthening and expanding cooperation between Turkmenistan and China.
Among the documents signed: an Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on technical and economic cooperation, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China on cooperation in strengthening the capacity of the Authorized Economic Operators Program.
