IX. Turkmenistan’s gas industry in the years of independence: continuation of development paths

In terms of gas resources, the Döwletabat gas condensate field is conditionally divided into Döwletabat-1, Döwletabat-2 and Döwletabat-3 and occupies large areas. The extraction of raw materials from hundreds of production wells drilled in such a vast territory creates reliable conditions for strengthening the national economy and developing the oil and gas industry, which is its basic sector, at a modern level. This article contains information on the complex of gas condensate fields Garabil-Gurrukbil and Central Karakum, currently being developed by the Döwletabatgazçykaryş Directorate of the Türkmengaz State Concern.

The multi-layer Gurrukbil gas condensate field is located to the east of the rare in its geological structure and huge volume of deposits Döwletabat gas condensate field and belongs to the territory of the Tagtabazar etrap, Mary velayat. The distance from pilot well No. 68, where gas was received at the Döwletabat gas condensate field, to the Gurrukbil field is 15-20 kilometers, and to the Garabil gas field, discovered on the eastern side of the Gurrukbil field, is 10-15 kilometers.
