Following talks with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov awarded the distinguished guest with the jubilee medal of Turkmenistan “On the 300th Anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy”, TDH reports.
Noting that the jubilee medal had been established in the year “Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Pyragy” in honor of the 300th anniversary of the great master of words, the head of state said António Guterres was being presented with a certificate of receipt of the award No. 1.
Then, to the applause of those present, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov presented the UN Secretary-General with a high award for his contribution to strengthening friendship and brotherhood among peoples.
The head of the authoritative international organization expressed gratitude for the high honor, emphasizing the relevance of the philosophical views of the great son of the Turkmen people – the outstanding poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Pyragy, who had called in his poems for unity, friendship, humanism and the triumph of peace throughout the Earth, which was completely consonant with the UN main goals and objectives.
