Readiness to start construction of Afghan section of TAPI gas pipeline confirmed

Negotiations between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan Hoja Ovezov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaki were held in Kabul. General Director of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited Muhammetmyrat Amanov also took part in the negotiations. This was reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kabul.
During the negotiations, the readiness of both countries for the practical implementation of the large-scale TAPI gas pipeline project in Afghanistan was confirmed. Ashgabat and Kabul agreed on further steps for its implementation.
The Afghan side reported the completion of all necessary procedures for the start of construction of the Afghan section of the TAPI gas pipeline. The Minister expressed hope that practical work on the project in Afghanistan will begin in the near future.
In turn, representatives of Turkmenistan confirmed their readiness to begin construction of the pipeline from their border to Afghanistan in the near future.
The parties expressed confidence that the implementation of this large-scale project will significantly strengthen economic ties between the two countries and will contribute to the development of the region.
