Following the talks in Tehran between the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, a ceremony of signing bilateral documents was held, TDH reports.

In particular, a Cooperation Plan for 2025-2026 was signed between the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and Iran.

A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the State Concern «Turkmengas» and the National Gas Company of Iran on the development of cooperation in the field of natural gas.

A memorandum of understanding on sister port relations was signed between the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi of Turkmenistan and the port of Amirabad of Iran.

 The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran signed a Plan of Joint Activities on Deepening and Expanding Cooperation in the Long-Term for 2025-2026.

During the meeting in a narrow format and in an expanded delegation format, the parties discussed priority issues of developing bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, and exchanged views on a number of topical issues of mutual interest on the international and regional agenda.

It is reported that the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan arrived in Iran on Wednesday on a working visit.

The current visit of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the results of the high-level talks are intended to significantly strengthen the interstate dialogue, filling it with new practical content.
