Turkmenistan is committed to the formation of large-scale ties within the framework of cooperation "Central Asia - the Republic of Korea" in the economy, transport, medicine, tourism and other areas. This was stated by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea Begench Durdyev, speaking at the 17th Forum of Cooperation "Central Asia - the Republic of Korea", the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

Speaking at the forum, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea emphasized the prospects for further development of relations in such sectors as economics, transport and logistics, science and education, medicine, tourism, digitalization and high technology, environmental protection, industry, agriculture, cultural and humanitarian ties.

The forum discussed key areas of partnership between the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea, covering such areas as transport and logistics interaction, energy cooperation, digital transformation and environmental issues.

Following the Forum, the heads of delegations adopted a Joint Statement and the Forum Secretariat Work Plan for 2025.

A joint meeting of the heads of the Forum delegations with the President of the Republic of Korea Yun Seok-Yeol also took place .

Addressing the heads of delegations of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, Yun Seok-Yeol expressed gratitude for the hospitality provided during his state visits to these countries in June this year and noted the readiness of the Korean side to implement the agreements reached during these visits.

During the meeting, readiness was expressed to deepen political, diplomatic, economic and cultural ties within the framework of the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” format.

The Forum also included the fifth meeting of the Central Asia – Republic of Korea Business Council. Noting the importance of intensifying economic relations, the meeting participants considered ways to expand partnerships in various sectors.
