On November 25, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received a member of the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, US Senator from Montana Steve Daines, TDH reports.

Having expressed gratitude to the head of state for the time devoted to the meeting, the guest emphasized that the United States attaches great importance to developing mutually beneficial cooperation with neutral Turkmenistan.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed firm confidence that the upcoming talks during the guest's visit will allow an exchange of views on the prospects for expanding multilateral interstate partnership.

As noted, relations between Turkmenistan and the United States, based on the principles of mutual respect, trust and mutual understanding, include political and diplomatic, trade and economic, and cultural and humanitarian areas.

It was also noted that in recent years, the political dialogue between the two countries has become active.  This creates an opportunity for an effective exchange of views on such issues of the global agenda as sustainable development, security and climate change.

The subject of discussion was also the trade and economic sphere, which is one of the main vectors of interaction between our countries. For many years, productive cooperation has been carried out with the largest American companies participating in the implementation of significant projects in Turkmenistan. In this context, the great contribution of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council to this was noted.

As Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, Turkmenistan is implementing a strategy for diversifying energy export routes. At the same time, the country advocates the development of partnership taking into account the interests of producers, consumers and transit countries.

During the exchange of views on priority areas of interaction, the presence of broad opportunities for the development of bilateral cooperation was noted.
