Relations with neighboring countries are among the priority areas of neutral Turkmenistan's foreign policy. This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking on December 9 at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the agenda of which included issues of the country's foreign policy.
«The concept of neutral Turkmenistan's foreign policy is multifaceted and includes many issues. Next year, Turkmenistan will continue to strengthen cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats,» the President said.
«Relations with neighboring countries are among the priority areas. In this context, Turkmenistan will continue to strengthen ties with the countries of Central Asia and the Caspian region states based on the principles of brotherhood, good neighborliness and mutual respect,” the head of state noted.
“Turkmenistan will increase cooperation with the states of South Asia, the Near and Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov continued.
“Currently, global economic and technological progress has been achieved in these regions,” the President said, noting the interest of the countries of these regions in partnership with Turkmenistan.
The head of state noted that “equal and mutually beneficial relations with the countries of Europe and America, based on the principles of mutual respect, will receive further development. At the same time, special attention will be paid to cooperation in such areas as high technology, the transition to “green” energy, and the introduction of artificial intelligence”.
“In foreign policy, much attention should be paid to interaction with African countries,” the head of Turkmenistan continued.
The expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers was attended by the heads of diplomatic missions and consular offices of Turkmenistan in foreign countries and representative offices of our country in international organizations.
