On December 12, Turkmenistan widely celebrated the International Day of Neutrality and the 29th anniversary of acquiring the status of permanent neutrality.

As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized in his congratulatory message to the people of Turkmenistan on the occasion of this holiday, «This glorious date increases the authority and glory of our independent, permanently neutral state. Neutrality is an important means of maintaining stability and security, implementing peace initiatives, and resolving important issues at the international level through dialogue».

On Thursday morning, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov laid a wreath at the Monument of Neutrality in Ashgabat, which embodies the commitment of the Turkmen people to the ideals of humanism, creation and international cooperation. Following the head of state, other participants in the ceremony laid bouquets of flowers.

The ceremony, which opened with the performance of the National Anthem, brought together representatives of state structures of Turkmenistan, diplomats, representatives of international organizations and public figures. The participants of the event noted the role of Turkmenistan's neutrality policy in addressing global challenges, including security, energy and ecology.

On this day, a festive atmosphere reigned throughout the country. Concert programs, exhibitions, sports and cultural events emphasized the uniqueness of the Turkmen path, where peacefulness and creation remain the main priorities.

In the evening, residents and guests of the capital, together with members of the government and the head of state, attended a festive concert in honor of the 29th anniversary of Neutrality, which took place in the Congress Center located near the Kopetdag Mountains. People's and honored artists, as well as young, rising stars of the Turkmen stage, performed here. The concert program presented popular world songs in various languages of the world to those gathered.
