The President of Turkmenistan discussed priority areas of cooperation with representatives of the US business community

On December 16, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov discussed priority areas of Turkmen-American cooperation with representatives of the US business community who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the Turkmen-American Business Forum, TDH reports.

The US delegation included the Executive Director of the Turkmen-American Business Council Eric Stewart, President for Strategic Cooperation in Central Asia of John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co. KG Csaba Lejko and the head of Westport Trading Europe Nikolay Yurchenko.

During the meeting, the President noted the significant contribution of the Turkmen-American Business Council to the intensification of bilateral cooperation. Over the past years, the Council has become an effective tool for establishing, developing and strengthening contacts between the economic structures of the two countries.

The most promising areas of cooperation included the oil and gas industry, electric power, renewable energy, transport and communications, agriculture and high technology.

The head of state confirmed Turkmenistan's interest in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with American companies and its readiness to consider their specific proposals.

In turn, businessmen confirmed the desire of the US business community to further develop ties with Turkmenistan, which has solid economic potential.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the Turkmen-American Business Forum would help to intensify and strengthen investment cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States, wishing the event a success.

Noting that during the visit, US partners will have the opportunity to exchange views with their Turkmen colleagues on promising areas of cooperation, the head of state emphasized that the upcoming talks will give new impetus to building up mutually beneficial bilateral relations.

During the meeting, the contribution of American companies to the realization of the economic potential of both countries was noted. As was emphasized, for many years such large companies as Boeing, General Electric, John Deere, Case New Holland, Nicklaus Companies, Westport Trading Europe Limited have been implementing important projects in Turkmenistan.
