President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the draft of the "Program for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan and investments in 2025". Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported on the preparation of the draft of this Program at a government meeting on January 24, TDH reports .
As the Vice-Chairman noted, the draft Program was prepared based on the “Program for the socio-economic development of the country in 2022–2028”, the “Program for the transformation of the social and living conditions of the population of villages, settlements, etrap cities and etrap centers for the period up to 2028” and the State Budget for the current year.
The program provides for measures aimed at maintaining the stability of macroeconomic indicators, the rate of GDP growth, diversification of the spheres of the national economy and strengthening the economic power of the country. At the same time, it is planned to ensure the dynamic development of industries, increase the level of industrial and innovative development, achieve full use of the production capacities of industrial enterprises, and create new jobs in the regions.
The main objectives of the Program include: increasing the competitiveness of the economy through the development of export-oriented and import-substituting products, increasing foreign trade turnover; increasing the production of environmentally friendly products, implementing measures to ensure food security and environmental protection; further implementation of modern digital technologies and the "green economy", improving the quality of services provided to the population in various areas.
In accordance with the Program, work will be carried out to create a favorable business environment for the development of small and medium-sized businesses and the improvement of public-private partnerships, to activate investment policy, and to improve the legislative framework for attracting investment and supporting investors.
Along with this, it is envisaged to take measures to ensure social security of the population, increase incomes and improve the social and living standards of citizens.
The Program defines macroeconomic indicators, production plans for all sectors of the economy, work scheduled for implementation in 2025, indicators of socio-economic development of the velayats , the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag . In this regard, specific figures and volumes of investments planned for development were given.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that our country is implementing large-scale activities to ensure stable economic development, create modern production facilities in all sectors and improve the social and living standards of the population. In this regard, the head of state emphasized the need for the successful continuation of these reforms this year.
