On February 7, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, where the results of the work of the economic sectors for 2024 were summed up, reports of deputy prime ministers, a number of heads of ministries, and velayat governors were heard. The agenda also included promising tasks for the socio-economic development of our state for 2025 and personnel issues, TDH reports.
During the meeting, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov reported on the work done in 2024 in the oil and gas industry.
In particular, it was reported that during the specified period, the oil production plan of the State Concern "Turkmennebit" was fulfilled at a level of 102.1 percent. The State Concern's oil refineries fulfilled the oil refining plan at 101.9 percent, gasoline production - 103.3 percent, petroleum bitumen - 224.4 percent, and lubricating oils - 100 percent.
Information on the production of diesel fuel, polypropylene, liquefied gas, and the extraction of natural and associated gas was also announced.
Having reported on the ongoing work to ensure uninterrupted supply of government bodies, enterprises and organizations with oil products, their more rational distribution and use, the Vice-Chairman submitted a draft of the relevant Resolution for consideration by the head of state.
Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that as a result of the energy policy being implemented by the state, the oil and gas sector is consistently developing.
In this regard, emphasis was placed on the importance of carrying out proper work in 2025 to develop this industry at a modern level, and to reliably supply domestic and foreign consumers with natural gas. The need for further implementation of advanced technologies to increase the production capacity of the oil and gas complex was also noted.
It is necessary to intensify the industrial development of the Galkynysh gas field, to accelerate the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, especially its key section Serhetabat-Herat, called "Arkadagyň ak ýoly", the head of state said, emphasizing the importance of developing rich and promising oil deposits.
Along with this, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the Vice-Chairman to attach special importance to increasing the production capacity of the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries and the Seydi oil refinery, to accelerate the pace of exploration and search for promising deposits of hydrocarbon resources, geological surveys to search for deposits of useful solid minerals, rare minerals, and groundwater.
Instructions were also given to continue the successful implementation of digital technologies and systematically improve the qualifications of specialists in the oil and gas industry.
