Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan discussed prospects for interstate cooperation with the Emir of Qatar

Prospects for Turkmen-Qatari trade and economic cooperation were discussed during a telephone conversation on March 3 between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, TDH reports.

As noted during the conversation, the most important area of interstate cooperation is trade and economic relations.

In this regard, Hero-Arkadag emphasized the prospects for Turkmen-Qatari cooperation, which includes such areas as the oil and gas sector, chemical and textile industries, investment block, transport and trade industries. Confidence was expressed that mutually beneficial projects will be successfully implemented based on the existing potential and positive experience in these areas. In this context, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty confirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to traditional mutually beneficial relations with Qatar, expressing confidence that the interstate dialogue will continue to develop.

Hero-Arkadag noted that Turkmenistan highly values the relations with Qatar established in recent years and attaches great importance to expanding them in all priority areas, and also expressed sincere gratitude to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his contribution to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries.

At the initiative of Turkmenistan, the UN General Assembly adopted a special Resolution "2025 - International Year of Peace and Trust". In this regard, work is underway to organize and conduct various high-level political events jointly with neighboring countries and international structures, Hero-Arkadag said, continuing that on December 12, 2025, the International Forum of Peace and Trust will be held in Ashgabat on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the neutrality of our state. In this regard, the National Leader of the Turkmen people invited Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to take part in this international forum and festive events, noting that this will contribute to their success.
