International Conference in Ashgabat on March 19 to Discuss Interregional Projects in the Fuel and Energy Complex and Transport

The International Conference “International Year of Peace and Trust: the Role of Interregional Economic Cooperation in Ensuring Sustainable Development” will be held in the capital of Turkmenistan on March 19. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov during a briefing held on March 10 in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Representatives of government agencies, international organizations and financial institutions, as well as company executives have been invited to participate in the upcoming conference.
It is planned that the work of this forum will focus on such topics as the geopolitical and geo-economic significance of energy, transport and infrastructure projects in Central and South Asia; the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline: economic, organizational and legal issues; the role and significance of the construction of the TAP power transmission line; transport interconnectivity of regions, as well as the participation of financial institutions in the implementation of economic projects in Central and South Asia.
As reported, the TAPI gas pipeline is a major transcontinental energy project designed to provide gas to countries with a population of almost two billion people. And the upcoming conference will create a platform for exchanging opinions among executives and experts from energy companies, banks and consulting firms.
The briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was dedicated to the upcoming international events held by the Government of Turkmenistan jointly with international organizations to mark the announcement of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust" and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
The briefing was attended by heads and employees of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of domestic and foreign media.
