On March 12, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the opening ceremony of a new important facility in the Baherden etrap of the Ahal region – the Baharden ceramic plant, TDH reports.

The new plant is designed to produce 3.3 million square meters of ceramic decorative tiles and 120 thousand units of sanitary ceramics per year. The enterprise was built by order of the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan by the individual enterprise "Eziz doganlar", which is part of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan. The plant is equipped with modern equipment from the Italian company SACMI, and all production processes are automated.

The enterprise, which occupies an area of 30 hectares, has all the necessary production and living conditions for about 460 employees.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted in his speech at the opening ceremony that the new enterprise is an important step in the implementation of the National Program for the Socioeconomic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052.

"Modern buildings for social and cultural purposes, powerful industrial enterprises, new villages and cities are being built in all regions of the country. The construction of the second stage of the city of Arkadag, the first "smart" city in Turkmenistan, is successfully continuing. These grandiose construction projects being implemented in an independent country are aimed at ensuring a prosperous and happy life for our native people," the President emphasized.

"The industrial sector and the construction industry give a great impetus to the socioeconomic development of the independent Fatherland, provide construction sites and the population of the country with high-quality construction products. We will continue to develop the industrial and construction sector in accordance with the adopted programs," the head of state said.

Representative of the Italian company "SACMI Imola Societa Cooperativa" Michele Pulpito noted that the new plant is the first in Turkmenistan and one of the largest and most modern enterprises of this profile in the world.

During the ceremony, the Minister of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan was presented with certificates confirming the compliance of the enterprise with international standards of quality, ecology, health and safety.
