The President of Turkmenistan took part in a mass bike ride on the occasion of World Health Day

World Health Day was widely celebrated in Turkmenistan on April 7.  President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the bike ride dedicated to the holiday.

Among those who gathered in the morning from the Health Path in the south of Ashgabat were young pupils of the "Döwletliler köşgi" Palace, students of the School for the Preparation of Young Olympians and comprehensive schools, athletes of the Turkmenistan national cycling team, students, and members of the public.

Members of the Government, representatives of the Halk Maslahaty, the Mejlis, ministries and industry departments, military and law enforcement agencies, the capital's administration, public organizations, as well as heads and employees of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in our country, and the media also took part in the sports and health event. The country's masters of art prepared a festive concert program.

The President led the column of participants who rode along the avenues of Ashgabat. The bike ride finished in the city center, at the Rukhiyet Palace. Here, addressing the participants of the bike ride, the head of state emphasized the need to continue comprehensive work to further involve broad sections of the population, especially young people, in regular physical education and sports, and to strengthen the principles of a healthy and active lifestyle in society. At the same time, Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the development of children's and youth sports.

Bike rides have become a good tradition in our country, uniting people of different ages in support of a healthy lifestyle, ecology and social initiatives. The celebration of World Health Day reflects the priorities of state policy aimed at the well-being of the people. The development of mass sports and physical culture plays an important role in this. The Saglyk program is being implemented in the country, modern sports and medical facilities are being built. Particular attention is paid to the development of children's and youth sports, which contributes to the upbringing of a healthy and active generation.

The President, being an active supporter of a healthy lifestyle, regularly participates in sports events, continuing the initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Cycling is actively gaining popularity in Turkmenistan. The country has all the necessary infrastructure for holding international competitions. Cycling culture receives international support, which is confirmed by UN resolutions and other initiatives promoted by Turkmenistan.

Along with the capital, mass bike rides on the occasion of World Health Day took place in the city of Arkadag and in all velayats of the country.
