Turkmenistan announces competition “Green Energy – Bright Future”

Within the framework of 2025 declared the International Year of Peace and Trust, the state concern “Turkmengas”, the editorial board of the newspaper “Nebit-gaz”, the German Society for International Cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)) GmbH and the editorial board of the electronic newspaper Ussatnews announce a competition for the best articles devoted to the issues of “green” energy, renewable energy sources, energy saving and increasing energy efficiency in Turkmenistan, as well as the work carried out by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in this direction.
The national leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in his work “Independence is our happiness” emphasizes that ensuring a prosperous and secure future for the peoples of the world requires scientific and technical reforms, rational use of energy resources and the introduction of sustainable solutions. From this point of view, studying the role of “green” energy is of particular importance for the sustainable development of Turkmenistan.
The “Green Energy – Bright Future” competition is aimed at raising public awareness in the field of sustainable development, promoting renewable energy sources and stimulating interest in advanced energy technologies. It also aims to disseminate new ideas, exchange experiences and form a positive attitude towards environmental protection and energy conservation.
Participation in the competition is open to all interested parties. Authors are invited to submit articles reflecting original ideas, innovative approaches and practical solutions. Works must be logically structured, convincingly argued and written in accessible language. Full information about the author (name, home address, place of work, phone number) is required.
The competition will be held throughout 2025. Its results will be announced on December 25, 2025. The best articles will be published on the pages of the Nebit-Gaz newspaper, as well as on the websites oilgas.gov.tm and ussatnews.com, under the competition slogan: "Green Energy - a Bright Future".

A specially formed jury will evaluate the competition materials. Based on its decision, the winners of the competition will be awarded letters of gratitude and valuable gifts.
Funding for the awards for the winners of the competition is provided within the framework of the project “European Union for Green Development of Turkmenistan: Political Dialogue and Climate Action for 2024–2028”, implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH with the support of the European Union and the German Federal Foreign Office.
