The tenth meeting of the High-Level Working Group on the Caspian Sea (HLWG) was held in Moscow on May 5-7, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
The event was attended by delegations from Turkmenistan (headed by M.G. Atajanov), Azerbaijan (headed by S.A. Sharifov), Iran (headed by A. Jahangiri), Kazakhstan (headed by Z.A. Amanzholova) and the Russian Federation (headed by M.I. Petrakov), who chaired the meeting.
The meeting discussed methods for establishing direct baselines in the Caspian Sea. As part of the meeting, the parties reviewed cooperation in the Caspian Sea and considered issues of preparing the next meeting of foreign ministers.
The representatives of the delegations positively assessed the results of the talks and expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation for the high organizational level.
The next meeting of the HLWG will be held in Turkmenistan at a time agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
