Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi visited Turkmenistan on June 23. On the same day, at a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the heads of the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Iran discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues, the Foreign Ministry of our country reports.

The parties exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest, in particular on the current situation in the Middle East.

Araghchi expressed deep gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan for showing fraternal solidarity with the Iranian people and resolving a number of humanitarian issues during this difficult period.

It was emphasized that the Turkmen side was one of the first to declare its position in connection with the difficult situation that has arisen between Israel and Iran, noting that Turkmenistan, as a state with the status of positive permanent neutrality recognized by the UN, does not accept the use of force or the threat of its use as a way to resolve political and other issues.

Particular attention was paid to the need to use a wide range of political and diplomatic means to resolve any difficult situations only by peaceful means based on the UN Charter and generally recognized norms of international law.

In this regard, the Turkmen side expressed its readiness to participate in resolving the current situation in the Middle East through negotiations with all interested parties in order to quickly achieve peace and ensure security and stability in this region.

The Iranian Foreign Minister thanked fraternal Turkmenistan, its leadership and people for their continued support and expressed readiness to continue a constructive political dialogue with the Turkmen side, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
