Turkmenistan's GDP growth in the first half of the year amounted to 6.3%. This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during an expanded government meeting, where the results of the country's socio-economic development for January-June 2025 were discussed.

"The results of the work performed over six months demonstrate the successful implementation of the adopted programs. During the reporting period, the GDP growth rate amounted to 6.3%," said the head of state, whose speech was published in the central media of our country.

"In accordance with the Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2025 and the Investment Program, capital investments in the amount of 17 billion 829 million manats were utilized in the country, which is 15.6% higher than in the same period last year," the President noted.

"269.7 thousand square meters of housing have been commissioned in the velayats, cities and etraps of the country. "The construction of industrial facilities, kindergartens, schools and other structures is underway on a planned basis," the head of state added.

"Over the past six months, work has been carried out to create new enterprises for the production of competitive, high-quality goods. The necessary work is being carried out to achieve economic and financial stability and increase employment. The country's export potential is increasing, digital technologies are being widely introduced," said Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, speaking at the government meeting, said that as a result of comprehensive measures over the specified period, GDP grew by 6.3%, including in the industrial complex by 1%, construction - by 5.1%, transport and communications sector - by 10.8%, trade - by 9.9%, agriculture - by 4.5%, in the service sector - by 8.6%.

Compared with the same period in 2024, overall output increased by 9.9% in January-June of this year. The volume of retail trade increased by 12.7% compared with the same period last year, and foreign trade turnover by 2.9%, the Vice-Chairman added. It was also noted that wages at large and medium-sized enterprises in the country increased by 11.4% compared with the same period in 2024. Wages, pensions, government benefits and student scholarships were financed on time and in full.
