Turkmenistan and the IAEA intend to sign a Framework Program for Cooperation until 2029

The high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the International Atomic Energy Agency was noted at a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and IAEA Deputy Director General Liu Hua, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on August 4 (https://www.mfa.gov.tm/ru/news/5429).

During the meeting, the parties discussed the approval of the draft Framework Program for the country for 2025-2029 between the government of Turkmenistan and the International Atomic Energy Agency. Interest was expressed in signing this document in the near future.

Particular attention was paid to current programs and projects in the field of using the IAEA's expert and technical skills in the field of health.

The meeting took place at the Berkarar Hotel in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, where events are taking place within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

The IAEA Deputy Director General noted the importance of the forum and expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for its high level of organization and hospitality.
