At the final stage of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC), one of the key outcome documents was unanimously adopted — the Avaza Political Declaration aimed at sustainable and inclusive development for the period 2024-2034, the International Information Center of Turkmenistan reports.
Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov in his speech emphasized the importance of the declaration as an instrument of global solidarity.
“The adoption of the Avaza Political Declaration is a key step towards strengthening international cooperation and ensuring a sustainable future for landlocked countries,” the Vice-Chairman said.
“Turkmenistan, as the initiator country, will continue to make efforts to implement the provisions of the action program,” Rashid Meredov noted.
The document reflects the commitment of UN Member States to the implementation of the Avaza Action Programme for 2024–2034, previously adopted by the General Assembly.
It outlines priority areas: expanding transport and digital connectivity, developing sustainable infrastructure, supporting gender equality and attracting investment in key sectors of the economy.

On August 8, a ceremony of lowering the flags of Turkmenistan and the United Nations took place in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, marking the official completion of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC).
