President of Turkmenistan discusses cooperation prospects with JBIC representative

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Deputy President of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Kazuhiko Amakawa on September 5, TDH reports.

During the meeting, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that Turkmenistan has big plans for the production and processing of natural gas, and in this regard, new opportunities for the development of cooperation are opening up. In this regard, our country expressed its readiness to consider specific proposals from the Japanese side for further cooperation in new areas.

As the head of state noted, Turkmenistan, which has rich deposits of natural resources, aims to develop this area through diversification, emphasizing the great contribution of Japanese companies to the effective use of the economic potential of the republic.

In this context, the emphasis was placed on the fact that a fruitful partnership has been carried out with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation for many years and a number of major projects have been implemented.

Noting Turkmenistan's achievements in the economic sphere, Amakawa emphasized the great interest of Japanese business circles in working in the promising Turkmen market.

The guest noted the great contribution of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the development of Turkmen-Japanese business cooperation. In this regard, it was emphasized that regular high-level visits give impetus to the development of business relations, filling them with new content.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that he warmly recalls his official visit to Japan in April of this year, during which high-level negotiations were held and important agreements were reached.

The President emphasized that the economic development strategy implemented in Turkmenistan attaches great importance to expanding international cooperation. In particular, it is planned to intensify relations with authoritative financial institutions and banking and credit organizations.
