Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan arrives in Qatar to participate in international events

Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov is in Doha, State of Qatar, on September 14-15 to participate in an extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as in an emergency Arab-Islamic summit. As part of the visit, the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan met with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. Rashid Meredov conveyed greetings to the Qatari side from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The parties discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
As part of the preparatory meeting of ministers for the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit, Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the Minister of State for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Maryam bin Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including strengthening bilateral political dialogue, expanding trade and economic cooperation, and developing cultural and humanitarian ties. Particular attention was paid to the current situation in the region.
At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to further developing cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect and trust.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes that Turkmenistan expressed its official position in connection with the events that took place in Qatar, emphasizing the inadmissibility of the use of force to resolve international disputes, which contradicts the principles of the UN Charter and the generally recognized principles of international law.
