Turkmenistan is ready to use the platform of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly to promote decisions developed at the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov noted, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Rashid Meredov made this statement at a meeting with UN Under-Secretary-General and Representative for the Least Developed and Landlocked Developing Countries, Rabab Fatima, held on September 22 on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
The parties noted that the successful hosting of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Countries (LLDC3) in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, which took place from August 4–8, 2025, on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea, was a significant confirmation of Turkmenistan's active role in strengthening cooperation with the UN and its significant contribution to addressing global challenges.
The parties discussed the practical implementation of the key outcome documents of LLDC3—the Avaza Political Declaration and the Avaza Action Programme for 2024–2034.
The Turkmen side emphasized the importance of joint work in these areas and expressed interest in sharing its vision and priority measures for their implementation.
