Priority areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Qatar were discussed at a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Doha

The third meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on November 26–27. Heads and representatives of several government agencies and business circles from both countries participated, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on its website.

The meeting was chaired by the heads of the commission – Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan Nazar Agakhanov and Minister of Foreign Trade and Industry of Qatar Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Said.

Before the meeting, the ministers held a private meeting to discuss in detail opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation in trade and economic matters.

During the meeting, representatives of Turkmenistan and Qatar discussed the development of bilateral relations in trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian, transport and logistics, oil and gas, industry, agriculture, water, investment, and banking. The parties also exchanged views on developing cooperation in science, education, culture, healthcare, sports, tourism, and environmental protection.

Following the meeting, the Protocol of the Third Meeting of the Turkmen-Qatari Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was signed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
