A joyous event occurred in Ashgabat on January 1, 2026: the first child of the New Year was born. The baby was born at the capital's Scientific and Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health, according to the Turkmenistan Medical Information Center.
The birth of Turkmenistan's first citizen in the year whose motto is "Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Steeds" was deeply symbolic. The happy parents named their firstborn Atamyrat.
According to medical professionals, the newborn's condition is satisfactory. The baby weighs 3.1 kilograms and is 48 centimeters tall. Mother and baby are under the care of highly qualified medical staff at the Scientific and Clinical Center.
In honor of this significant event, the newborn's family received valuable gifts on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the President of Turkmenistan, as well as from the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care.
