Diplomats from Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan discussed organizing high-level visits

The organization of high-level and senior-level visits was discussed on January 12 at a meeting between Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkmenistan Gismet Gezalov, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
"During the meeting, the parties discussed current areas of Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Special attention was paid to organizing high-level and senior-level visits, as well as meetings between the leaders and representatives of the two fraternal countries," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The diplomats also discussed preparations for events planned for this year, including the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation in Ashgabat.
The meeting also examined in detail the possibilities for developing cultural and humanitarian ties. It was noted that Azerbaijani Culture Days are planned for Turkmenistan this year.
Emphasizing that the current year is the Year of the Horse according to the Eastern calendar, and that in Turkmenistan it is celebrated under the motto "Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of the Determined Winged Steeds," the parties examined in detail the possibilities for developing cooperation in the fields of horse breeding and equestrian sports.
