The 6th Conference of the Council of Trade Unions of Oil and Gas Workers of Turkmenistan was held at the Natural Gas Research Institute (NRI) of the State Concern "Turkmengas". The event was chaired by Akmyrat Amanov, Head of the Trade Union Committee of the State Concern "Turkmennebit". Volunteer deputy chairmen of the Council, leaders of primary trade union organizations from all regions of the country, Council members, and other delegates participated.

During the conference, Geldymurat Seytiev, Chairman of the Council of Trade Unions of Oil and Gas Workers of Turkmenistan, presented a detailed report on the organization's activities from January 1, 2021, to January 1, 2026, and outlined key objectives for the period 2026–2030. The report highlighted the results of the meetings and the results of the distribution of vouchers to domestic sanatoriums and children's health centers in 2021–2025. Statistics on occupational injuries for the reporting period were also presented. G. Seytiev noted with satisfaction that the social and living conditions of workers have been steadily improving over these years, largely thanks to the trade unions. As an authoritative structure within the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, the oil and gas industry trade union fully utilizes its statutory powers to protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers, as well as to create conditions that stimulate their effective and creative work.

During the conference, presidium members Sapar Ataberdiyev, head of the primary trade union organization of the housing and utilities enterprise of the Main Directorate "Turkmennebitonumleri" of the State Concern "Turkmennebit"; Begmuhammet Atayev, head of the trade union organization of the "Marygazchykarysh" department of the State Concern "Turkmengas"; and other trade union representatives delivered presentations. As noted in the presentations, during the reporting period, industry leaders and trade union activists who achieved high results and set an example for their colleagues received material and moral incentives from trade union organizations. To ensure favorable and safe working and rest conditions at work, trade union organizations have established effective bilateral cooperation with employers.

Positive results in this area have been achieved through annual thematic events: the month-long "Occupational Safety and Health – the Key to Healthy and Safe Working Conditions," safety weeks, workplace inspections, and awards for exemplary enterprises and institutions. After discussing reports on contributions to the economic development of independent, neutral Turkmenistan and summing up the results of the reporting period, participants reviewed the Council's draft program of activities for 2026-2030. The document was adopted unanimously. Furthermore, conference delegates approved new Council members and deputy chairs. Geldymurat Seytiev was re-elected as Chairman of the Trade Union of Oil and Gas Workers of Turkmenistan and head of the Council.

At the conclusion of the conference, members of the Council of Trade Unions of Oil and Gas Workers of Turkmenistan were wished success in fulfilling their duties in strict compliance with the Constitution, the Labor Code, the Charter of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, and other legal acts.
