On April 10, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an off-site meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers to discuss the country's socioeconomic development, including the Lebap velayat, and a number of other issues, TDH reports.

During the meeting, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Guvanch Agajanov reported on the work being carried out in the Lebap region to improve the oil and gas sector.

As reported, along with other regions of the country, necessary measures are being implemented in this sector. Specifically, to ensure reliable delivery of natural gas to consumers, the State Concern Turkmengas effectively maintains gas pipelines of various pressures, gas distribution stations, and gas regulating equipment.

To explore and identify natural resource deposits and increase groundwater reserves, hydrogeologists from the State Corporation "Turkmengeology" are conducting large-scale drilling operations in the Lebap region.

In addition, the region is working on the industrial development of the Bagtyýarlyk contract area and the Malay, Nayip, Kyukurtli, Balguyi, Gazojak, Kirpichli, and Bagaja gas fields, as well as on supplying natural gas to domestic consumers and exporters.

Necessary steps are being taken to efficiently utilize the capacity of the Seydi Oil Refinery and specialized liquefied natural gas production facilities in Bagaja and Nayip, located in the region.

After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of further improving the work of the complex's institutions and enterprises to effectively utilize the country's natural resources and oil and gas reserves, including those of the Lebap region.

The head of state instructed the Vice-Chairman to consistently modernize the Seydi Oil Refinery by widely implementing modern technologies, improve drilling efficiency, and conduct timely repairs at gas production wells.
