On May 14, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with Lee Won-jae, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan. Representatives of Turkmenistan were represented at the meeting by Deputy Foreign Minister Akhmet Gurbanov, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the strategic and long-term focus of trade and economic cooperation was highlighted. The significant contribution of Korean companies to the implementation of major projects in the gas chemical industry, transport infrastructure, and shipbuilding was emphasized.

The parties particularly noted the key role of visits and contacts at the highest and highest levels in the development of Turkmen-Korean relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote.

It is worth emphasizing that Korean companies play a significant role in the development of Turkmenistan's gas chemical industry. Leading players in this field include Hyundai Engineering, LG International, and Daewoo E&C, which are actively involved in the design, construction, and modernization of a number of industrial facilities.

Major joint projects include the Kiyanly gas chemical complex in the Balkan region, a commercial gas purification plant at the Galkynysh field, and several projects to build new process lines at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refinery (TCOR), among others.

Daewoo Engineering & Construction is currently actively involved in new projects, including the construction of a new mineral fertilizer production complex. Hyundai Engineering is working on projects to stabilize the polymer plant in Kiyanly (phase two).

Projects implemented by Turkmen companies jointly with their Korean partners are aimed at advanced natural gas processing and the production of high-value-added and export-oriented products.
