President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree to postpone the day off from March 21 to Tuesday, March 23.  As noted in the document, such a decision was made in order to create favorable conditions for the solemn celebration of the National Spring Festival – Novruz – and a good rest for the population of the country.

In Turkmenistan, Novruz is celebrated on March 21-22.  Due to the fact that this year the first day of the holiday coincides with Sunday, President Berdimuhamedov, in accordance with part 2 of article 81 of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan, decided to postpone the day off.

Thus, in 2021, the Turkmen people will celebrate the National Spring Festival for three days in a row – from March 21 to 23.

The document instructs all institutions, enterprises and organizations, regardless of their form of ownership, to ensure the implementation of this decree.
