The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan plans to hold negotiations with Turkmenistan on the supply of natural gas.  This was stated by Minister Kubanychbek Turdubaev at a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) on the fuel and energy complex and subsoil use, the newspaper 24.kg reports.

According to him, gasification is needed to reduce electricity consumption.

“In order to reduce the price of gas for subscribers, we intend to supply it at a lower price.  We are negotiating with Uzbekistan and plan to discuss this issue with Turkmenistan”, - Turdubaev said, emphasized that there were technical possibilities for this.

Earlier, cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, among other topical areas for the development of bilateral partnerships, was discussed on March 18 this year during a video meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic Rashid Meredov and Ruslan Kazakbaev.
