President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved the draft Program of intergovernmental economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation for 2021-2023.
This draft was presented to the head of state by Vice Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber Serdar Berdimuhamedov during a government meeting held on Friday via video link. The document, which is a kind of "road map" for a three-year period, covers all areas of productive relations, including the expansion of the commodity nomenclature of mutual trade, the news agency notes.
Such strategic areas as industry, energy, agriculture, high technologies, services, finance, etc. are identified as priority vectors.
After hearing the report, the President stressed that the Russian Federation is one of the leading trade and economic partners of Turkmenistan. Fruitful interstate cooperation, which has wide opportunities, meets the interests of the well-being of the peoples of the two States.
The Head of State also noted the important role of the joint Intergovernmental commission in the development of an effective dialogue between the two countries.
