Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed with the head of the Business Council «Turkmenistan-USA» promising areas of cooperation

 The state and prospects of the Turkmen-American trade and economic partnership were discussed on Thursday during a telephone conversation between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the head of the Turkmenistan-US Business Council Eric Stewart, the state news agency TDH reports.

 The head of our state noted the progressive development of the friendly Turkmen-American dialogue, in which the main place is given to trade and economic relations.

 The parties paid special attention to the activities of the Business Council «Turkmenistan-USA», established in 2008 on the initiative of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in order to promote the development of trade and economic relations.

 During the conversation, current and future joint projects in priority areas of mutual interest were also discussed.  At the same time, it was stated that for many years American companies that are members of the Business Council have been successfully operating in the Turkmen market in strategically important sectors of the economy.  Among them are the companies John Deere and Case, General Electric, Boeing.

 Noted that the establishment of an open business partnership on an equal footing with all interested parties is an important principle of the foreign economic course pursued by Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that the Turkmen side welcomes the desire of US business circles to strengthen its position in the Turkmen market and confirms its readiness for mutually beneficial cooperation  .

 At the same time, the Turkmen leader noted that there is a huge potential for mutually beneficial cooperation in such areas as the oil and gas sector, renewable energy, chemical and food industries, transport and ecology.

 In this regard, the expediency was emphasized to continue holding regular business meetings, forums and exhibitions organized by the Business Council and facilitating the establishment of contacts between public and private structures of the two countries.

 Positively assessing the opening prospects, taking into account the accumulated rich experience of joint work, Berdimuhamedov stressed that Turkmenistan is always ready to consider new proposals and visions for further expanding bilateral cooperation.
