China imported 10.07 billion cubic meters of natural gas through the Central Asia-China gas pipeline in the first quarter of 2022.  This was announced by «PipeChina West Gas Pipeline» company.

During 2021, the pipeline transported 44.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas to China, the Xinhua news agency reported.

Commissioned in December 2009, the Central Asia-China pipeline starts from the border of Turkmenistan, then passes through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and connects with the West-East gas pipeline at Khorgos, in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwest China, and is the first cross-border  China gas pipeline.

At present, the main gas pipeline Turkmenistan-China includes three parallel lines (A, B and C).  In total, since its operation, more than 320 billion cubic meters of Turkmen gas have been exported to the Celestial Empire.

In the near future, the route of the new, 4th line of this gas pipeline, designed to supply natural gas to China, will be laid from the border of Turkmenistan.  This will increase the volume of annual supplies of natural gas to China.
