Turkmen-Vietnamese business forum aims to realize the potential of bilateral cooperation

 On June 29, the capital of Vietnam hosted a Turkmen-Vietnamese business forum aimed at developing new solutions and approaches to realizing the potential of bilateral cooperation and building up trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Vietnam.  This is reported by the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

 The forum was attended by members of the delegation of Turkmenistan, representatives of about 40 Vietnamese companies specializing in the oil and gas sector, energy, trade, construction, architecture and transport.

 The meeting participants analyzed bilateral economic and business activity, exchanged views with representatives of government agencies and companies on the business environment, priority sectors of the economy, conditions for trade, investment and economic integration.

 Within the framework of the forum, bilateral meetings of the members of the Turkmen delegation with representatives of Vietnamese companies were also held.  As a result of the meeting, a number of agreements were signed between Turkmen and Vietnamese entrepreneurs.

 Also, during the visit to Hanoi, the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Foreign Minister V. Khadzhiev held talks with the leadership of the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, during which the parties exchanged views on a wide range of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

 It was noted that there is a great potential for expanding and diversifying trade between the two countries, attracting investments from both the state and private business.  It was proposed to intensify the work of the relevant departments of the two countries in order to reach specific agreements.  In this context, the proposal to establish a bilateral working group on cooperation in the construction sector was considered.

 The delegation of Turkmenistan from June 27 to July 1, by order of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, was sent to Hanoi to discuss the possibilities of developing bilateral relations in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, scientific, educational and urban planning spheres, as well as holding a business conference, meetings and negotiations.
