New national ships and the modern International Seaport built in the city of Turkmenbashi made it possible to establish stable supplies of Turkmen oil products abroad. This was stated by the Chairman of the Agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary" Agamurad Hayitmuradov at the conference "International transport and transit corridors: interconnection and development", which opened today in Ashgabat.
- Within the framework of innovative projects, Turkmenistan built and purchased 7 modern ships for transporting oil products, which significantly increased the competitiveness of the domestic fleet, - the head of the agency said.
“Currently, these vessels make international flights between the Caspian ports and successfully represent Turkmenistan in international markets,” - Hayitmuradov said.
In addition, Turkmenistan purchased and upgraded four tugboats and two high-speed passenger ships to improve operation and expand the range of services provided by the Turkmenbashi International Seaport.
In this regard, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan aims to turn its sea harbor on the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea into one of the most powerful ports in the region and the largest transport and logistics center in the world, which will coordinate transportation by sea, rail and air on the Eurasian continent.
