Cooperation in the energy sector was discussed on Wednesday by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and State Minister of Petroleum of Pakistan Musadiq Masood Malik. This is reported by the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

As noted, during the meeting, the possibilities of further promotion of the implementation of such strategically important projects as the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI), power lines and fiber-optic communication along the route Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) were considered.

Malik noted that the leadership of Pakistan supports these projects, which are important both for each of the parties involved and for the region as a whole.

During the meeting, the importance of high-level contacts for the further strengthening of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan was emphasized.

It should be noted that on Tuesday the State Minister of Oil of Pakistan was received by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The conversation also focused on the implementation of joint projects in the energy sector.
