The International Conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan -2022" started its work in Ashgabat

Today, in the afternoon, the International Conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan" (OGT-2022) began its work at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized by the State Concerns "Turkmengas" and "Turkmennebit", the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the State Corporation "Turkmengeology". The partner in the organization of an important industry event is the ES "Turkmen Forum" with the support of the British company GaffneyCline.
This year, the oil and gas forum brought together more than 500 delegates from 45 countries, including representatives of government agencies, national and international companies, research centers and specialized universities, international organizations and diplomatic missions.
At the beginning of the conference, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country Shakhym Abdrakhmanov read out the official greeting of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the forum participants.
Then the plenary session "The Future of the Energy System: New Challenges and Opportunities" began. Here, the speakers were the State Minister of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmengas" Batyr Amanov, Executive Director of "ENOC Link LLC" Oliver Steen, Managing Director of "GaffneyCline" Florent Rousset.
The speeches of the president of the Chinese company CNPC Hou Jijun, the executive director of the Azerbaijani company SOCAR Trading S.A. Maryam Almaszade, Regional Director of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Bina Partan, Secretary General of the European Energy Charter Guy Lenz.
As noted in the reports, the energy industries of different countries are forced to respond to common challenges provoked by the climate agenda and the technological revolution. Countries had to look for options to limit greenhouse gas emissions, address infrastructure development issues in the context of digitalization, etc.
The search for adequate answers to these challenges is given an important place in the program of the Ashgabat forum, which combines two main aspects of a sustainable future in its agenda - long-term energy and environmental security.
On the first day of the forum, within a separate session, investment opportunities in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea will also be discussed. There will be speeches by the heads and representatives of the State Concern “Turkmennebit”, the State Corporation “Turkmengeology”, Gaffney Cline, Dragon Oil, Eni S.p.A, Schlumberger Logelco, Inc., Trans Caspian Resources, Inc.
Tomorrow the forum will continue its work.
