Turkmenistan notes the importance of interaction in the trade and economic sphere with the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Berdyniyaz Myatiev, speaking on Thursday at the 9th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the UTC, held in Samarkand under the chairmanship of the Uzbek side, the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.

“Our country is cooperating with all countries of the world, including the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States, based on the principles of mutual respect and understanding, as well as equality,” the head of the Turkmen delegation, Deputy Foreign Minister Berdyniyaz Myatiev in his speech, said.

In this regard, the importance of interaction in the trade and economic sphere was noted. In this context, the existence of opportunities for the development of both bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the Turkic countries in the fuel and energy, transport and communication sectors and in the industrial sector was emphasized.

The event was attended by the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Hungary and the deputy foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, as well as the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States.

The participants exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and international agenda and interaction within the Organization, and also considered draft documents submitted for signing during the summit of the Organization of Turkic States, scheduled for November 11 in Samarkand.

The Turkmen side at the summit will be represented by the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
