Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan advocate the diversified scheme of energy supplies to the European market to international markets, in particular, in the European direction. This was stated by Chairman Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during talks on Wednesday with the speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament, Sahib Gafarova, who visited our country.

“The two states also have great potential for interacting in the energy sector. Here the approaches of the parties are identical: Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan advocate a diversified scheme for energy supply to international markets, in particular, in the European direction”, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.

“A significant, truly outstanding event was the signing in January 2021 of a memorandum of understanding between the government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the joint development of hydrocarbon resources of the Dostluk field in the Caspian Sea. This fact marks a fundamentally new stage in interstate energy cooperation”, Arkadag hero emphasized.

The visit of the speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament to Turkmenistan took place on the eve of the first tripartite summit of the presidents of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey, which will be held on December 14 in the «Avaza» National Tourist Zone on the Turkmen Caspian coast.

On December 13, 3 ministerial meetings - ministers of foreign affairs, transport and energy of three countries – are planned.
