Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey stand for the formation of a coordinated and multi-variant system of energy supplies to world markets.  This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking on Wednesday at Avaza at the First Summit of the Heads of State «Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Turkey», TDH reports.

As the Turkmen leader emphasized, the aggregation of opportunities, the joint use of the resource, geographical and technological potential of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey will not only significantly intensify the national economies of the three countries, but also give new content and quality to the entire geo-economic structure of Eurasia.  First of all, we are talking about such strategic areas as energy and transport.

“As for the international energy partnership, our countries stand for the formation of a coordinated and multi-variant system of energy supplies to world markets,” - Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted.

According to the head of our state, the diversification of supply routes and their functioning should be based on clear and precise standards that take into account multilateral interests, as well as guarantees of reliability and security.

It is from this position that joint initiatives to establish cooperation on the supply of natural gas from Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan to Turkey and further to world markets should be considered, the President said.

The head of state called the signing in January last year of the Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan on joint exploration, development and development of hydrocarbon resources of the Dostluk field in the Caspian Sea a significant event.

This is a completely new milestone in the bilateral energy partnership in the Caspian Sea, which opened up new prospects for joint work, relying on a solid international legal framework, Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, adding that the agreements reached on cooperation at the Dostluk field testify to a high level of mutual respect, good neighborliness  , equal cooperation, taking into account the interests of each other.

As already reported, at the end of the First Summit of the heads of state of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey, a package of documents was signed.  Including the State Concern «Turkmengas», the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the further development of cooperation in the field of energy.
