New commercial inflows of hydrocarbon raw materials have been obtained at the North Goturdepe field. They confirmed the reserves of black gold predicted by specialists of the State Corporation «Turkmengeology» within the North Goturdepe deposit and the shallow waters of the Caspian Sea and the area adjacent to them, including the sections of Central and Western Goturdepe.
At the same time, advanced 3D seismic survey methods were used to detect promising and predictive-promising objects in separate blocks of North Goturdepe and blocks of West Goturdepe. Based on the results of the studies, a geological report was compiled and recommendations were issued for drilling exploration and exploration wells, the State Corporation «Turkmengeology» notes.
At the North Goturdepe field, exploration drilling expeditions of the State Corporation «Turkmengeology» started the construction of one prospecting (No. 19a) and two exploration (No. 7a, No. 242) wells. As a result of the development of exploration well No. 19a by the Lebapnebitgazgözleg expedition, commercial oil inflows and an increase in reserves were obtained. The well has been put into operation.
At present, exploration well No. 7a, which was completed by the Balkannebitgazgözleg expedition, also received industrial oil inflows and an increase in reserves from the lower red-colored strata of the Pliocene deposits of this field. The well has also been commissioned. In the future, it is expected to receive inflows, as well as an increase in oil reserves from the overlying medium red-colored strata of the Pliocene.
Another exploratory well is at the final stage of drilling – No. 242 of the Lebapnebitgasgozleg expedition. According to the conducted geophysical studies of the well, the passed section is also distinguished by its positive characteristics, and in the future, inflow and increase in oil reserves are expected.
In November of this year, the divisions of the State Corporation «Turkmengeology» began installation work of another exploration well No. 18a at the North Goturdepe field.
According to Turkmen geologists, prospecting and exploration work at this deposit will further provide an additional increase in black gold reserves. This was reported by the online newspaper «Turkmenistan: the Golden Age».
