Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak and Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Shakhym Abdrakhmanov discussed on Thursday in Ashgabat the interaction of the two countries in the oil and gas sector, electricity, renewable energy sources and peaceful atom. “Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak held a working meeting in Ashgabat with Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Shakhym Abdrakhmanov. The parties discussed the interaction between Russia and Turkmenistan in the oil and gas sector, electric power industry, in the field of renewable energy sources and peaceful atom,” the release says.
During the meeting, it was noted that Russian companies offer their services in the field of modernization of the electric power system of Turkmenistan with the involvement of domestic contractors for the supply of equipment.
In addition, it was reported that Russian oil companies are ready to participate in joint projects to develop fields in Turkmenistan. They also discussed cooperation in the field of oil and gas supplies, the construction of gas infrastructure, and the preservation of environmental safety in the Caspian Sea.
