Ashirguly Begliev has been appointed as the new Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan for the fuel and energy complex.  The corresponding Decree was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers following the results of 2022 last Friday.

Until that time, A. Begliev, since April 8, 2022, served as an adviser to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues.

Wishing the new Vice-Chairman success in his new position, the President of the country focused on the promising areas of the future work of the oil and gas industry, which is one of the key segments of the economy.  Among the priority plans were the adoption of further measures for the reliable supply of domestic and foreign consumers with natural gas, the acceleration of the industrial development of the Galkynysh gas field, and the involvement of foreign companies in order to search for and develop the Caspian Sea.

The construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline should be kept in view, the head of state stressed, ordering to continue work on the already developed fields to increase oil production.

At the same time, the importance of taking appropriate measures to increase the capacities of the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries and the Seydi oil refinery, as well as to create new high-tech industries at these industrial facilities was noted.

It is necessary to continue to actively search for and survey large promising reservoirs of hydrocarbon raw materials, geological exploration of solid minerals, building materials and groundwater, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.

The need to pay special attention to the issues of professional development of oil and gas industry specialists, the introduction of digital technologies, as well as reducing the harmful impact of the oil and gas industry on the environment and human health was also emphasized.
