The first trilateral summit of the heads of state of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, held on Friday at the Arkadag Hotel in Ashgabat, ended with the adoption of the Joint Statement, TDH reports.The document reflects topical issues of regional cooperation, which were discussed at a meeting between the Presidents of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

As a result of the summit, the heads of state expressed their desire to further develop cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.The readiness to continue strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan within the framework of international organizations, primarily in the UN, as well as on other international and regional platforms was especially emphasized.This is the first high-level meeting in such a format. 

The Ashgabat Summit is intended to lay the foundation for the further development of mutually beneficial multifaceted cooperation that meets the interests of the countries participating in the summit and the region as a whole, the news agency notes.At the end of the summit, a press conference was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan following the trilateral meeting of the presidents of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. 

The heads of the foreign ministries of the three states made appeals to the media representatives, in which the results of the talks at the highest level were announced.The ministers also briefed journalists on the main provisions of the final document adopted at the summit.It was also emphasized that the fruitful tripartite talks at the top will contribute to the further expansion of mutually beneficial partnerships, both between the countries participating in the summit and in the region as a whole.
